NOODI SWAMI NAAVIRODE HIGE!!! Anka !! :

Thud!!! Holidays again. Now that I am free to do what I want :)

As usual I saw zillion movies, ate, read and talked unlimitedly. Bored by these activities finally I decided to continue the documentation of the memories of my first year in IITM.

I am not a “freshie” any more. As I stack my first year stuffs neatly, so as to pass them on as heritage to my juniors (of course after PDP sessions), I recall my first year in the institute.

After the first few days of Personality development sessions (PDP sessions- a “cleaner” name for ragging), we started getting along with each other. Classes!!

Classes at 8 a.m. First few weeks saw high activity in the wing bogs early in the morning. When my fellow mates in the wing woke up as early as 5 am (Info from friends -no clue if anyone woke up before), I was peacefully rolling on my bed. I had calculated well. I am not going to wake up before 7:15 am. How much time would this girl who used to manage to get to the classroom at 8 am in 12th even while waking up at 7:45 am require to get ready? Mind you, I used to get to class just in time or some five minutes late, but after completing all the morning “work”(which includes bathing :P ) and also after having Breakfast! So it should not be difficult here in IITM too. Slowly and steadily as time went on, the early morning activity in the wing slowly decreased. The time of waking up of my wing mates exponentially decreased, but I maintained my constant 7:15 am.

We used to have classes from 8am to 5pm, with some slots free here and there. “Slots”, this reminds me of the difficulty we faced in figuring out how to read our time table. The time table given to us looked like :

It looked like a great puzzle to us. We had no clue from where to start reading this table. The “Code Breaking” work started. With the curriculum book in one hand and the time table in another, I sat down for a couple of hours. Eureka!!! I got it!!! Finally I managed to read the “da IITM code”!!!

Coming back to the classes, first few days were really boring for we did not have any classes. All that we ended up doing was moving from one class room to another. How would this happen in IITM? No classes for two days? What a waste! The third day the classes kick started. With in two days the classes were at full swing. With enormous courses in front of us, we got the shock of IITM curriculum. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering Design, Professional Major Theory, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab and Workshop, did I miss any? Was this enough for a semester!?

IIT=Institute of Infinite Tension.

True, it is true!!! With MA101 and CY101, we got the heat of IIT.

There started the Acads!!!

Good good. Nice to see that you've chosen the word documentation. Rarely do people realize its importance
